Large quarto, illustrated with 48 plates (one folding), mainly photographic, 64 pages of text in French, a little used internally with slight age-toning, faint staining to the bottom margins, the final plate worn at the margins and lacking a small corner, the original upper cover is bound in, but lacking a corner (no loss of text), bound in a simple recent green quarter calf, very slightly marked and faded. RARE. [An intriguing account of fin-de-siecle horticulture in Hungary. COPAC lists only two copies within the UK - Kew and the London Library.]. First Edition. Quarter leather. Good.

Illustrated with monotone photographs, slim octavo, pp 140, slightly worn internally, the hinge at the penultimate page slightly exposed but not weak, endpapers sliightly marked, original olive cloth unevenly faded and toned, the corners worn, the spine lacking small pieces at head and foot, and with another small piece loose at the head. VERY SCARCE. . First Edition. Cloth. Good.

London: Printed for Private Circulation, 1855. Illustrated with line drawings, a folding coloured map, a folding map printed in blue, pp xx, 507, all edges gilt, a little occasional foxing, otherwise clean internally, contemporary half morocco, marbled sides, raised bands, only very slight signs of wear. The publication was authorised by Queen Victoria who had purchased the manuscript after the author's death. The printing was very limited, probably under 150 copies. There are extensive lists of plants and animals, extending to eighty pages. [A unique copy, extra illustrated with 25 original topographical photographs, probably by the original owner - Charles F.S. Chambers - whose armorial bookplate appears on the front endpaper. Though the images are small, (mainly c. 60mm x 65mm), they have great charm and are largely in good condition with only slight fading. Well illustrated with black and white photographs, large octavo, pp vi, 158, very clean internally, cloth-backed pictorial boards, slightly worn and age-toned. From the library of the botanist and conservationist Gren Lucas, with his signature on the front endpaper. [The locations of photographs originally taken between 1919 and 1924 were revisited between 1956 and 1957 and new images taken. A fascinating work, and rarely available in this hardback form.]. Llandrindod & London: The Emporium, Llandrindod Not dated - c.1895? A large folding sheet of sepia photographic reproductions, complete with the booklet - "Llandrindod Wels Guide" - 56 pages. As usual, both the book and the concertina plate have become detached from the binding, which is gilt decorated but raher rubbed and worn.. Cloth. Fair.
