Paper covers with purple, red and white angular shapes, covers bit rubbed, corners curling. Interior some corner curl as well, marginalia, underlining, most in pencil but some in pen - moderate in some sections, none in others. Still usable, just not very pretty. What Clement of Alexandria, Calvin of Geneva and Gutierrez of Peru, and all the other thinkers discussed in this book have in common is at least this: they all bear witness to their struggle with the relation between Christian faith and non-Christian thought. Folio. 3/4 leather, green leather spine which is faded and rubbed, leather corners gone and rubbing to corners, brown hard paper boards with general wear and age but still sturdy. Interior marbled endpapers (almost look like they are hand-done) , deckle edges, paper is clean and unmarked, bit of foxing, but otherwise quite nice. Title page is dated 1808, preface is dated 1821 and signed by Francisco Antonion Gonzalez. First part is the canon law in Spain, second part has a separate title page "Epistolae Decretales ac Rescripta Romanorum Pontificum" from house of Joachim de Ibarra, dated 1821. Index to both works follows the Epistolae. ; Folio 13" - 23" tall; Bonham summer 2014 .

Hardford, CT: P.B. Gleason & Co.. Good with no dust jacket. 1838. Cloth. Xii + 126 pp + errata slip. The 1838 reprint of the 1810 edition, from the original 1710 edition, with an affirmation by the Church that the current edition is an accurate copy. 12mo. Brown basketweave embossed cloth is faded around the edges, spine label is gone, corners bumped. Interior endpapers are oxidized with some small old marks, first 2 blanks have small chip at bottom edge, last blank has a crosswise tear above where the errata slip is laid in, a very occasional light pencil mark in the text, otherwise nice. ; 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall; 126 pages .

Very attractively put together history of this Congregationalist Church. Dark brown cloth spine, light brown paper boards with reproduction of baptismal records, etc. Boards clean, just a bit of wear at tips. Interior front blank has a few small marks, otherwise clean and sturdy, very nice.; 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall .

London: Hodder and Stoughton. Fair. 1884. Hardcover. Xii + 404 pp. Green cloth boards. Book is ex-library with lots of usual interior marks as well as exterior marks. Book is in fair condition. Spine is very worn at top. Some tears on first few pages. Some foxing and spotting throughout. .

Philadelphia: Pickwick and Company. Good with no dust jacket. 1883. First Edition. Cloth. 82 pp + Monitum. With two facsimile illustrations before the title page. Extremely scarce. Based upon a paper on The Greek New Testament as Published in America, presented to the American Philological Association in 1882, then expanded with information communicated to the author afterwards. The author was the noted Orientalist and linguist, curator of the Metropolitan Museum in New York and famous for his work in Cypriote epigraphy. The author's gift inscription to the Hamilton Chapter of Alpha Delta Phi, with his "class of 1859" on the second fly leaf. Brown cloth binding with embosed ruling has normal wear, spine gilt bit dulled but quite legible, spine tips starting to fray. Interior yellow end papers with Alpha Delta Phi Hamilton stamp, hinges just starting. Nancy: Joan. Bapt. Cusson. Good with no dust jacket. 1714. Leather. 221 pgs, original blanks. Sigs A6-T6. 32mo (4" x 2.5") (10.5 mm x 6 mm) in 6. What appears to be original calf binding, 4 raised bands to the spine with gilt in the compartments, classically French. Corners are rubbed, joints are cracking with some loss of leather but threads/binding holding strong. Interior verso of last endpaper has old brown ink notation but otherwise unmarked. Some copies have a frontis piece, this one appears never to have had it bound in. Title page with IHS in a rose, each page with a ruled border, head pieces at each of the 4 books. Paper is clean and strong. This lovely little Imitation of Christ was obviously loved but cared for. Jean-Baptiste Cusson (1663-1732) originally worked in Paris but came to Nancy in 1711 where he printed many devotional books.
