Published by the Czech Institute of the History of Socialism, looks primarily at Czechoslovakia, its labor movements, with special emphasis on the post-World War II period. Very scarce -- World Cat shows only 1 copy in libraries world wide. Essays are written in various western languages, including English, German, French, etc. Original brown paper wraps are worn and curled at the edges, spine backstrip very chiped. Interior paper is browned and crisping, some page-turning chips and corner chips. Binding still strong, but paper is fragile. Otherwise clean and unmarked.; 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall .

Covers have a small bump at front fore-edge, some finger marks to back cover. Interior the introduction and notes to the artworks are bound separately, clean and nice. Title page is grubby, "printed in Russia" stamped on title (Estonia was in Russia), Mercklin's name written on the title with blue pencil underlining. Rest of the text is a bit grubby but acceptable, folding plate is quite nice, last page of text has small tear/hole in margin, corners dogged but otherwise good. S. Embassy until 1971.) Text pages lightly browned but otherwise clean. The folding documents have short tears at the gutter fold, some old tape repairs on one page but otherwise good.
