A few foredges roughly opened. Somwhat fragile, but cord bound and holding together admirably for a cheap paper cover edition. How many survived? .

A few flecks of foxing to top edge; decorative orange bookplate on front endpaper; jacket with moderate soil and fading to spine. Scarce historical novel of San Francisco. The author was a native San Franciscan who wrote from firsthand knowledge. As an eyewitness to the earthquake and fire of 1906, he stood in breadlines, helped carry dynamite on Van Ness Ave. where attempts were made to check the fire, and did general rescue work. .
