Praha [Prague]: Fr. Borovy, 1919. First edition. 54 mounted plates om heavy stock of Kafka's sculpture. 4to (12 x 8 3/4 inches), 10-pages of text. Original dark blue cloth, Kafka's signature in gilt on upper cover, spine gilt; lower corners bumped else excellent. Long signed inscription, dated 1936, from the sculptor on half-title. Text in Czech.

Very good.Together with the volume published after the sale, the auction catalogue but with the names of the buyers and the prices realised. This 4to (10 x 7 1.2 inches), 195-pages, original red cloth; a large portion of the backstrip detached but present. The sale total was £49,744.4.6. Rare.

London: 1811. [title continued[: and in the Finest condition. Which will be sold by Auction by Mr Christie at his Great Room, Pall Mall, on Friday March 29, 1811. 8vo (9 1/2 x 6 inches), 44-pages. 152-Lots. Old half calf, marbled boards, the spine lettered in gilt "Mr. Bindley's Portraits 1811". Spine chipped, both boards detached, title dust marked. Buyers names and prices realised added in a contemporary hand, perhaps that of James Bindley (1737-1818; a commissioner of stamp duties; a collector of books & engravings). The title page is inscribed at head "Mr Bindley, Stamp Office". The sale of Bindleys collection upon his death raised over £29,000. Very rare. No copy cited on Copac.
