An autograph note is penciled on the top right corner of the first page of a 4-page brochure printed on cream colored paper with the fourth side left blank. Signed "W. E. Parsons". The edges of the first page are slightly darkened & there is some staining to its top edge, affecting a few letters of the note. There is a small stain to the bottom edge of each page. Good. Parsons notes on the brochure that "Enquiries will probably be made Friday of this week, will send place and date later -".William Edward Parsons [1872-1939] was an American architect who earned a B.S. degree from Columbia University,studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts and received a B.F.A. from Yale. This publication and the exhibition it is based on celebrated the 750th anniversary of the City of Berlin and the 10th anniversary of the Cooper-Hewitt Museum's rebirth as the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Design. Included are essays by Tilmann Buddensieg, Fritz Neumeyer, Angela Schonberger and Michael Esser. The text is in English and German.

The covers are slightly bowed & the dust jacket is slightly darkened. 124 pages plus colophon. Profuse full-page photographic illustrations. Very good. <p>The text is by Rene Fouque and the photographs by Daniel Boudinet. The text is in French.<p>In the Italian town of Bomarzo, the main atttraction is a garden, the "Bosco dei Monstri" or Park of Monsters, so called after the many larger-than-life sculptures, some sculpted in the bedrock, which inhabit the landscape. The garden was created by Pier Francesco Orsini, [known as Vicino Orsini;1528- 1588] in memory of his deceased wife.

There is a small stain to the bottom corner of the rear cover. The dust jacket is rubbed with the spine & extremities faded. The head of the jacket spine & the tops of the folds are lightly chipped & frayed. 351 pages. Profuse black-and-white plates & textual illustrations in black & white. The binding is darkened and heavily creased & chipped with pieces out of the head & tail of the spine. The top right corner of the front cover is torn & is reinforced on the verso with linen tape. Some form of customs or shipping label is mounted on the front wrap, obliterating the cover illustration & part of the titling. 22 pages plus 72 pages of sepia-toned photographic illustrations. Despite the condition of the covers, the binding is tight & the contents are very good. Good First edition.The book is a pictorial work on sanitoriums and health resorts in the Caucasus Mountain region. Very good. <p>The author quotes a study that finds that 300 churches were built in the diocese of Milan between 1945 and 1995. He sets out to give an account of the fifty churches built or in the course of construction from 1985 to 2000. The text is in Italian.
