An historical novel about the last Empress of China, in youth a beautiful concubine, in middle life a brilliant strategist, in old age a goddess.  A nice reading copy.

The boy's name was Emmett Till and the year his murderers were tried (and acquited ) was 1955.

First Edition, First Printing, Dust Jacket has 2 minor tears on top front.  The story of Frederick Winsor, his family, his values, and the Bostonian men and women who influenced him and helped him establish Middlesex School in 1901.
