Dust jacket some mild wear on edges. Photos are from the family albums, mostly from the interregnum between the first and second world wars, and include Henry James, Lytton Strachey, Aldous Huxley, D. H. Lawrence, Thomas Hardy, E. M. Forster, T. S. Eliot, Virginia Woolf, Vita Sackville West, Clive and Vanessa Bell, and others. Extensive commentary from memoirs and biographies selected by the editor accompanies the photos.

A Man in the Zoo, by David Garnett. Illustrated with wood engravings by R. A. Garnett. Published by Chatto & Windus, London 1924. Signed by both the author and illustrator. Limited numbered first edition, number 42 of 100 numbered copies (110 copies printed). Red cloth hardcover. A few spots on the cover, inside clean and tight in excellent condition.For some reason Biblio web site is rotating most of the photos left 90 degrees. I have tried uploading them twice and it keeps recurring so I give up.

Plain unprinted translucent dustcover with one small tear at the upper edge (dustcover not shown in pictures). Pages with only slight yellowing. Three short stories, narrated by the author's alter ego, Bech, one of which concerns his encounter with the most fervent collector of his first editions.

Sixteen Sonnets, by John Updike. Published by Halty Ferguson, Cambridge, MA, 1979. Limited Edition. Sewn binding. A fine, bright copy in the publisher's sewn marbled wraps. This is number 241 of 250 copies signed by Updike on the limitation page.
