One of Erasmus's best-known works, it is a satirical attack on superstitions and other traditions of European society in general and the western Church in particular. A Man is based on Alexandros Panagoulis, with whom Fallaci had a long relationship. She maintained that he was assassinated due to his work with the Greek resistance and his (unsuccessful) assassination attempt of Greek dictator Georgios Papadopoulos.
