Introduction by Willard Van Dyke. Includes over 100 black and white images as well as commentary by Steiner. A fine copy in a very near fine price clipped dust jacket in a near fine slipcase. Signed by Steiner on the limitation page. Includes a laid in gelatin silver print on an 8" x 10" sheet of paper. Signed by Steiner on the verso in pencil and he has written "negative 1929/print 1977 and numbered it 59. Photograph is in very fine condition and also with the original laid in receipt from 1978.

Very good+ condition. Stapled. Only minimal signs of staining. The letter also discusses a Reference for one "Ed Sayles" and Jonas suggest that Aiken writes "casual but fairly strong" to Howard R. Bartlett, professor of history and head of the Department of Humanities at MIT. Hans Jonas (10 May 1903 – 5 February 1993) was a German-born American Jewish philosopher, from 1955 to 1976 the Alvin Johnson Professor of Philosophy at the New School for Social Research in New York City. Jonas was born in Mönchengladbach, on 10 May 1903. He studied philosophy and theology at the University of Freiburg, the University of Berlin and the University of Heidelberg, and finally earned his Doctorate of Philosophy in 1928 from the University of Marburg with a thesis on Gnosticism entitled Der Begriff der Gnosis… Leer más
