The copyright page states "First Printing: May 1980" with a number line ending in 2, which is not an indicator of a 2nd printing but rather an indicator of a Random House First printing when coupled with the "First Printing" statement. With moire silk endpapers, gold gilt titling and page edges, and bound-in silk bookmark. The book is in as new condition, included in original card stock shipping cover, which has been opened. 341 pp. including an extensive index. Includes the publisher's original Certificate of Authenticity and order form.

Scuffing, light edge wear to board corners, slight separation on the bottom of the spine, penciled price on top corner of inscription page from previous seller. Internally unmarked.

Copy is in fair condition - there is wear on the edges of the boards and some smudging on the interior pages. The front board has pulled away from the pages, but everything is still together. Written inscription is present opposite the title page. Previous sellers price written in pencil on title page.

Hardcover, early edition (1910 Syndicate). Cover shows hunter shooting lion attacking a native. The book is in poor condition - it's falling apart. The cloth is peeling on both the front and rear boards, the spine no longer has cloth and is exposed. The pages are loose. Most of the foreword is missing, though it looks like the other pages are all intact. Needs some TLC. Lots of illustrations in book.
