A fine tight book in a nearly fine dust jacket with restoration at edges, primarily to the top of the front panel (affecting the "T" and "O" in "TOPPER." ) . An attractive copy of a scarce book in the original jacket. The first Topper title, and basis for the 1937 film starring Cary Grant and Constance Bennett.

With misprint "signing" for "singing" on page 213, line 31. Some minor foxing to pages, else a clean, near fine copy with cloth fresh and bright, in a first issue dust jacket (with only publisher's blurbs on front, rear and spine panels) which is also near fine with slight tanning to spine panel and only the most minor of wear at edges. Very scarce in the correct jacket and in this condition.

A very good to near fine book in a very good example of the striking Misha Black-designed dust jacket which has been restored at spine and edges. Powell's fourth novel, the last before he started his serial novel, A Dance to the Music of Time.

Also, laid in is a roughly 3 by 5 -inch, vertical, photograph of Grey, neatly signed in the margin by Grey in his characteristic purple ink. A near fine book in a nearly fine dust jacket. Beautiful copy of this collection of five short stories.

Philadelphia: J.B. Lippincott Company, [1940]. First Edition. Fine copy in a particularly bright crisp dust jacket with absolutely no fading to the spine panel, with only the most minor edgewear. We have not seen a better copy of desirable collection of 8 short stories. Scarce in this condition.

Spine of book a little darkened. Otherwise very good in a perfect as new (supplied) dust jacket. Author's first novel. Owner signature at top of front free endpaper of Boardman [Mike] Robinson. Inscribed by Eastman on second blank leaf: "To Mike / with my love / Max / Nov. 18, 1927." Eastman's novel based on the life of John Reed. Eastman's acquaintance with both Reed and Robinson dates to his time at The Masses, to which Reed contributed articles and Robinson illustrations. Reed and Robinson had collaborated previously on The War in Eastern Europe [1916]. A fine association copy.

Dundrum: The Cuala Press, 1910. FIRST EDITION. One of 400 copies printed. One of the key Yeats collections, containing "No Second Troy," "A Woman Homer Sung,"A Drinking Song," "Upon a Threatened House" among others. Some tanning to cloth, with bumping at corners. Spine label neatly restored. A very good copy of a scarce and important book. Wade 84.

Cambridge: Privately Printed, 1943. FIRST EDITION. One of only 100 copies, some portion of which were reportedly destroyed by the author. Fine copy in wrappers of the author's scarce first book.
