Funk and Wagnalls Co, 1895. Hardcover. Acceptable. Text block soundly bound, in decent shape though with some toning. Rear hinge totally broken on the inner side, joint still sound; front hinge starting. Leather covers missing large surface chips at fore-edge of front, smaller ones to rear, cracks at corners with chips & tears at spine extremities. Board corners bumped and frayed. In original embossed and gilt-titled leather, marbled endpapers. The original was published in 1890, so this is a pretty early example, worthy of repairs. Ships at estimated cost. The pages are in good condition with a very few light scattered soil spots. There is name written on one of the front blank end paper and a couple of the front end papers have the bottom corner tip removed. The front hinge is cracked. Illustrated. Volume II (2) only. Oversized. Pages 1061 to 2318..

Two volume set, published in 1895. Copyright 1890, 1893 and 1894. A handsome set: leather binding with embossing and gilt rules. Five raised bands on each spine, Marbled endpapers, marbled edges and leather thumb indexes. Covers are rubbed, bumped and chipped, front cover of volume two is lifting away from the hinge.
