BLACK CLOTH GOLD LETTERING(DULL), SPINE IS LIGHTLY FADED, UNREAD, VERY CLEAN NO MARKS, AND SQUARE. A NICE COPY.

Redish cloth with Gold Lettering. Sunned spine and bruised spine ends and hard to read the lettering on spine. Light foxing page ends and inside the covers only. Inscribed in Author's hand Mr & Mrs ______ with the author's warmest & best wishes. This is usual for this author making his signature RARE. Part of a Bacon collection but is still available as a single book here.

Stated First Edition, Dustjacket is clipped and has a few small tears, but in VG or Better. Book is Near Fine but I see no defects but I might have missed something. Pulitzer Prize winning Author.

New York: Crown, 1964. This not ex-library,DJ= very delicate paper but holding up well,has a square frt corner where store price removed taking some top paper with it,small tears and small chips, price intact,light soiling.BOOK: green cloth with black lettering,very bright clean,light shelfwear,corners square,book unread tightness, 1st leaf has a small area at the top middle missing.top edge dusty.Very collectible copy.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good+/Good-Very Good.

RED CLOTH, PAPER LABELS SPINE, SPINE CLEAR TAPED ON 2 AND WORNED ON ALL 5. COMPLETE.

Black cloth, gold lettering, a little missing on the Doubleday bottom spine, not much. Minor foxing(?) to top edge. Book has a very slight smudge bottom edge. Book is very clean no markings, very tight(unread) and square. The DJ is price intact, but has chipping along the edges main ones are bottom spine and top front near the spine(also a tear/wrinkles), check refreshed photos for details, and a wear/tear/wrinkles(near botton spine to the rear cover) in Brodart to preserve it now, still looks nice. . Unknown Printing but early edition code on last page is H27. Same year as the first 1966 on title page.

1st published Janurary, 1917. weak hinges frt and back,and the spine is sunned.previous owners stamped name inside front cover. Herbert was the first to recieve the Pulitzer for Reporting in 1917, his reporting was published in this book,and I know he had the same title 1914 instead, so I would guess there is a 1915 somewhere in time,not sure if he continued pass 1917. You should read his information on-line, really interesting.....

only defect is bruising to the spine ends(reason for VG or Better) this book is companion to the 1st Ed Rebecca already listed, and not really for sale unless you want to pay thru the nose for it, it is here for the photos only?

New York: Viking, 1964 First published 1964,with the 1st issue points Blue cloth covers with silver titles on spine and blind stamped on the front cover,and light green stained top page edge,has a very slight lean,previous owners pastedown on the inside front cover,stained inside front cover and 1st leaf(like a newspaper article might have been stored there,and light bumping to spine bottom edge.DJ: has wear(very minor),price intact $5.75,black and white photo of author on the back scratching his nose,small chips(2) front bottom near corner,rubbing to the area near the spine. This is a fragile dj.. First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good+.

Please See Photos of this scarce book(I only found1 more original total) 1st time around for The Time Machine was 1895, then this one in 1899. And this story does not seem to be in a correct genre, but there is no Sci-Fi slot in 1899. No wonder it was hard to find. Making this edition collectable.
There are leather re-prints available if you only buy on appearance but it will always be a re-print from these originals.
