We find no information or reference to the "Metronettes," but as they were driving Honda's (most likely Gold Wings), they were probably on the more wholesome - rather than outlaw - end of the spectrum. Blue Wrangler "No Fault" denim jacket, size 36. With name ("Chan") and zodiac sign (? - "Pisces") embroidered in yellow above each breast pocket. "Metronettes" and "Md." enbroided in matching color to back of the jacket, above and below a period Honda motorcycle patch. Generally fine condition.

Original handbill/ticket order form (in typical period Bill Graham style) with informational flyer for attendees of the Goose Lake International Music Festival, a three-day event held in Leoni Township, outside Jackson, Michigan from August 7-9, 1970, with an estimated 200,000 attendees. Organizers hoped it would be "the world's first permanent festival site." But although the event drew over 200,000 people, it was not repeated due to multiple arrests and the displeasure of local authorities. The Stooges, Jethro Tull, Chicago, and Brownsville Station were among the many featured performers (Alice Cooper and Joe Cocker, also named on this handbill, did not perform due to contractual difficulties). Features two columns of demystified phrases ("evangelist" becomes "drug dealer," etc.) on topics including work, art, sex, and politics. "Many of the 'words of power' in the left column of the Decoder transmit ideological or moral systems like modern egotism, free-market capitalism, left-wing self-sacrifice, and technology fetishism.... London: Rough Trade, 1978. Very good plus.. Flyer promoting the second date, at Manchester's famed Factory, of Stiff Little Finger's UK tour after the surprise success of their first album - an interesting document in the development of one of the most important indie record labels. Rough Trade, who issued this flyer, began as a London record shop and soon expanded to tour promotion and music releases under their own imprint. Yet it wasn't until the unexpected success of Stiff Little Finger's first album INFLAMMABLE MATERIAL (it debuted at #14 on the UK charts) on Feb. 3rd, 1979 that Rough Trade was truly established as a force in the UK music scene. Also on the bill are Robert Rental, Essential Logic, and Daniel Miller's The Normal. Miller would use his experience at Rough Trade to later launch Mute Records, another key UK post-punk indie. 8.25'' x 12''. Offset flyer printed black on red recto only. Mild wear at edges. In black marker, a contemporary hand has added: "Factory / Feb 16th."
