D.C. Heath & Company, 1925. Hardcover. Acceptable. The date of publication is an estimation, based on a review of this book in the The Modern Language Journal, Vol. 10, No. 5, dated Feb, 1926). The book was made in Great Britain, printed by Turnbull and Spears, Edinburgh, Scotland. Greenish olive boards stamped with title and decorative border in darker green. Spine is tanned, less so around the edges of boards. Upper portion of spine is cocked to right. Lightly bumped board tips, with wearing of cloth on very tips of corners. Shelf wear along bottom of boards. Page block has darkened and is dirty. Front pastedown has previous owners name. Back pastedown has an old price written in pencil. All pages are age toned with darker toning in the hinges of front and back covers. Book has no observable markings on interior pages. 244pps.

Some soiling to boards. Scraped edges. Underlining and marginalia in blue ball point pen. Nice readable copy, with a good binding. Darkening to text block edges. Occasional fingerprint smudge. 211 pages.

Rational Island Publishers, 1981. Softcover. Good. Softcover with plastic comb binding. Clear plastic protective sheet over the light blue front and back covers. Clear sheets are scuffed. All pages remain bound by the comb, however a couple of pages are askew due to the way the pages were punched. A few pages have minimal amounts of underlining in pen and pencil. Light smudging to edge of pages. 107pps.

Golden Press, 1948. Hardcover. Acceptable. WELL LOVED children's book, with illustrations by Eloise Wilkin. "A Golden Giant Sturdy Book." Corner tips are dented and worn through. The top and bottom of spine are dented, worn through, with rips on the hinges. Covers are dirty, scratched and scuffed. Pages, which are of a stiff (sturdy) cardboard type, have foxing and stains. Text block is stained. Separation of the binding to book block, but all pages remain intact and this is a perfectly readable copy. All illustrations are charming in that typical Golden Book styling. Neat little vintage book.

Softcover. Good. Small chapbook with red wraps. Contains excerpts from Jackson's books, either Blood in My Eye or Soledad Brothers. Slightly bent upper right corner, with some finger print stains. This appears to be excerpts from one of George L. Jackson's books. Publisher unknown. 16 pages.

Bernard Geis Associates , 1969. Hardcover. Acceptable. Third printing, March 1969. DJ is dirty, with small rips to top edges, bumped at the tips, with shelf wear to all lower edges. Inside of DJ is yellowing and has light foxing. Light foxing to text block, paste downs and end pages. All edges of orange paper-covered boards are water-stained.The pages of the textblock are not water stained. Pencil erasure at top corner of FFE. Pages are unmarked. Lightly bumped corners of boards. Small nick in the gutter between pages 200-201. 212 pages.

Girl Scouts of America, 1949. Hardcover. Acceptable. Poor condition. Significant wearing, but book remains readable. The paper covering on the boards is worn through, scraped, discolored, dented, scribbled on, scratched and dirty. Printed covering is red, black along the hinges. Board tips are worn through, exposing the cardboard. Scraping along edges of spine, and very worn at heel and head of spine. One former owner name on the front pastedown, another name and pencil writing on FFE. Paste downs, end pages and fly leaves are age-toned, with darker staining in the hinges, and also have foxing. Lightly toned pages. 184 pages.

Charles Scriber's Sons, 1912. Hardcover. Good. Hardback. Half-binding. Wine red leather on spine, has scratches and wearing along edges, in particular spine ends. That said, the leather has held up quite well. Gilt lettering on the spine is quite bright and perfectly legible. The remaining board cloth is also wine-red and textured. Wearing along board edges and the fore-edges. Dented corners. Cracking to the paste-downs in the hinge. Former owner name written in pencil on FFE. Light underlining and marginalia, all in pencil. Lightly age-toned. Text block is darkened on outside edges, with light stains. Solid binding. Quite readable. 565 pages.

Remainder mark in pink highlighter on bottom of text block, which is otherwise clean with light smudge marks. Bottom of spine is bumped. Clean, unmarked pages. 410 pages.

Bumped tips and spine ends. Faded and darkened spine strip. Various and sundry stains on spine strip and front board. Tanned/brownish paste downs and end pages. Yellowed pages, text block, and fore edge. Ink staining. Fairly sturdy binding. 178pps.

Prentice-Hall , 1966. Hardcover. Acceptable. Hardcover with no dust jacket. Gray cloth covered boards are faded, but darkened around edges. Spine is faded as well. Book is prone to twisting, however, the yellowed pages are firmly sewn in. Spotting, soiling to all edges of the text block. Dented tips with wearing to cloth. Split in gutter between last page and end paper. That said, it's a decent copy to read. Large, heavy. Will require additional postage. 572 pages.
