Random House, 1938. Hardcover. Acceptable. BOTH VOLUMES. Tan cloth boards are dirty and stained. Worn cloth and bumped head and heel of spine. The red and gold titling on spine has cracked and faded. Corner tips are dented and cloth covering is wearing. Text blocks have smudging, and thumbprint markings on lower edges of text block. Pages lightly age-toned to about the color of a manila folder. Volume one has split between FFE and fly-leaf page. The "General Introduction" section of volume one is heavily marked in blue ball point pen. These volumes remain in great reading condition, despite being ragged outwardly. 1185 pages in volume one (not counting initial introduction) and volume 2 has 1,236 page, including glossary.

The Southworth Company, 1916. Hardcover. Acceptable. All three volumes, being sold as a SET. VOLUME ONE: has blue cloth covered boards, which are faded, scraped. Spine is quite sunned, fading the gilt title. Age-toning to pastedowns and endpapers. FFE has name of previous owner (from the Pember-Nuzum Clinic in Janesville, WI, now defunct). Darker age-toning to outside edges. Several sections of cracking between page signatures. Pages still intact. VOLUMES TWO & THREE: In blue cloth covered slipcases, that are faded, scraped. Spine ends are sunned with faded gilt titles. Scraped along spine. Shelf wear to bottom edges. Within the slip cases are "books" which contain heavy card stock examples of various diseases of the eye and accompanying text. Volume 2 has cards 1-35, and Volume 3 has cards 36-79. These "books" (portfolios) are kept closed with cloth ties (like shoelaces) to keep the cards in place. Shipping weight for all three volumes is easily around 11 pounds.

Bergen Academy of Art and Design, 2013. Hardcover. Very Good. Good. Nice, clean copy. The DJ and board tips have been bumped however, with crimping along top, bottom and lower DJ spine (shelf wear). Boards duplicate design of DJ. Tucked inside this book, between pages 4 and 5 (Introduction page) is a letter dated 2013 from the director of an art gallery in NYC where O'Kane's work was being displayed, to the director of SITE Santa Fe in Santa Fe, NM. This letter was included with a business card stapled to a small 3x5 pamphlet, also about O'Kane. The staple has left a light impression and small dirty spot on the Introduction page, so we are including both pamphlet and business card. Large art book.

The Lao Association of Fine Arts, 2007. Hardcover. Good. Blue boards, with titling and list of artists represented, in English, French and Laotian. No dust jacket (not sure if printed with one). The type of paper covering the boards is prone to being easily scuffed and scratched, which is the case here, but only to a minor extent. These types of board coverings are also prone to showing dirt and dust really easily, so these covers are a little "smudgy." Gently bumped corner tips. Top board has slight bow to it, so corners lift up so slightly. Clean pages. This delightful art book was published by The Lao Association of Fine Arts, in conjunction with the display of artwork at the Treasures of Asia art gallery.

Pennsylvania Geological Survey, 1982. Softcover. Good. Fourth series, General Geology Report 72. Scuffed covers. Scraped edges of wraps. Bumped/creased tips. Stamp of the New Mexico Bureau of Mines on the front cover. Lightly yellowed pages. Page block has wave. Corners of wraps and pages curl upward somewhat. Unmarked pages. Good binding. Good reading copy. 157 pages.

Seacoast Publishing, 2005. Softcover. Good. No dust jacket, as published. Inscribed by author. Bumped corner tips. Light scuffed cover, with light crimping to edges, and one ding on the top edge for front cover. Clean pages. Firm binding. 100 pages.

Bumped corner tips and at heel and head of spine. FFE has presentation stamp from Ingersoll-Rand to owner. Light age-toning to pages and textblock. Sewn binding in good shape. Good reading copy. 312 pages

Oxford University Press, 1967. Hardcover. Good. Hardcover. Heavy. DJ is rubbed, with some soiling at the edges. Now covered with Brodart clear protective DJ, scuffed. Clean navy blue cloth covered boards. Bumped corner tips with the faintest of wearing. Shelf-wear to bottom of spine. Gilt titling on spine is bright. Small stamp of former owner name on FFE. Thumbmarks to lower corners of text block. Light fingerprint smudges on outside edge of text block. Good, solid binding. 1,025 pages.

Crest, 1965. Mass Market Paperback. Acceptable. First Crest printing. Covers are yellowed, scuffed, dirty, dinged, scraped, with doodling on the front cover. Bumped corner tips, dinged and scraped heel of spine. Outside edge of front cover has light moth damage. Red tinted text block has faded. Binding is intact, no loose pages, but they are very yellowed and lean towards being fragile. Readable copy. 446 pps.

University of Pennsylvania Press , 1953. Hardcover. Good. Published by the University of Pennsylvania Press for Temple University Publications. Foreward by Benjamin F. Boyer. No dust jacket. Read cloth boards are lightly faded, soiled, and a few scratches. Lightly toned pages. Former owner name on a firmly attached sticker at bottom of spine. Gilt titling on spine has faded a bit. Binding is sound. Nice reading copy. 363 pp.

Ediciones Especiales, 1980. Softcover. Acceptable. In Spanish. DJ is rubbed with bumped with worn corner tips and top and bottom of spine, and creased on inner back flap. Water stains on DJ and some of the pages. Shelf wearing. Creased spine. Faint outlines of old pencil marks. Stained page block. Spine is fairly tight, with some cracking at gutter between cover and front and back pages.

Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1958. Hardcover. Good. Hardback, 1st American Edition. No DJ, but inside flaps of DJ cut from DJ and placed in the back of the book. Blue cloth covered boards are faded, with additional sun-fading to spine, silver titling remains fairly bright. Staining to cloth. Wearing to head and heel of the spine cloth. Dented corners with wearing to same and along edges of boards. Ghost fading and darkening on front pastedown and end page by something that had been placed within the book in the same place. Age-toned pages. Binding is in very good condition and book is quite readable. 264 pages.

The Folio Society, 1970. Hardcover. Acceptable. Book and slipcase. Introduction by Bob Edwards. Book has fading and foxing to the spine. Title in black with gilt shadowing is still mildly faded, however the cloth cover on the spine does show signs of wearing. Photographic boards are slightly dirty with thumbprints. Corner tips remain square. Tanning in gutter of title page, with the other pages lightly yellowed. Pages unmarked. Textured red slipcase is faded, chipped, stained, scraped, with bumped corners and worn on all edges of the case. In other words, it's been around the block. Could be of interest for fans of George Orwell. 214 pps.

Hill and Wang, 1973. Hardcover. Good. No DJ. Cloth boards are clean, but spine is faded. Light bumping of corners and top and bottom of spine. Light smudge on outer page block. Three small pin-prick sized spots on upper edge of page block. Tight binding. Pages are clean and unmarked.

Charles Scribner's Sons, 1924. Hardcover. Acceptable. Hardback sans/dust jacket. Faded red cloth boards w/ some soiling and wearing to tips and spine ends. Spine is sunfaded. Pencil marking/marginalia through out. Sewn binding is in good shape. Book falls open between three of the page signatures. Pages are not loose. Nice reading copy. Age-toning to pages, but not excessively so. 259 pages.

D. Appleton and Company, 1894. Hardcover. Acceptable. This is NOT a reprint. Originally copyrighted in 1892, this publication was printed in 1894. This is a binding copy only as it is showing its 130 year old age. Leather spine strip has dried out and has fallen away. Most of the spine strip is still present, just fallen away. The gilt titling is still bright. Boards are set to pull away, pages beginning to pull away. Front and back boards are scratched and faded with significant wearing to leather covered tips. Age-toned pages, some with foxing, others stained along outside edges. Pages are secured to the binding, all are present, however a few are beginning to pull away. This is truly a binding copy. Photographs furnished upon request.

Veterans Information Service, 1960. Softcover. Acceptable. 23rd annual revision dated 1960. Glued binding supplemented by 3 large staples. Very yellowed copy, with darker yellowing in the gutters and on the page block. The covers are yellowed, scuffed, slightly dirty and scraped around the edges. Dented corner tips. Top and bottom of the spine are scraped, as well as along the edges of the spine. Covers have tanning along the outer edges. While the book remains tightly bound, the covers are more fragile along the spine. Pages 287 through 290 are fastened together by a paperclip at the upper right corner. The paperclip will remain in place so as to not possibly tear the pages if removed. Outer edge of text block has thumbprint marks. Pages are free of notes or underlining. Faint tracings of erased pencil mark on first page.
