INSCRIBED by the Author on front endpaper: "For Lucas who may one day reach the sea" PKP in ink, and SIGNED also on the title page by the Author in ink. "A Flask of Sea Water" is not only an exciting and beautiful story but--like all true fairy tales--a window onto a marvellous other world. Lavishly illustrated by Laszlo Gal, it will delight readers of all ages.

A sweet Angel frontispiece and a title page with gold, red and black lettering. 9 other pages of text in Black and Red, plus 3 other full-page illustrations. Endpapers show a young woman kneeling down with an open book in her lap while looking at a cross on the opposite page. It looks as if the front endpaper with the cross on it has been removed from the book, but all other pages are intact. Some discolouring of the pages but still a lovely item.

A touching story about a stray dog who turned up one summer in a seaside town. He proved to be completely irresistible and the shop owners adopted him. Then the dog met Eli, a writer, who had left the city for the quiet of the beach. Every day man and dog would drive along the sea and they shared a special friendship. But, when Fall came and the shops began to close, Eli returned to the city. Would the dog be left all alone again? Eli tried living in the city but it was difficult to write there; and he was worried about the dog. So Eli moved back to a house by the sea near the small town and adopted his little friend who he named Sam.
