A sleeper for collectors of Amwell Press books, as this usually gets listed as Winchester Press. Spine has neither Amwell nor Winchester, but rather the N.S.F.L. logo. The book itself is well worth having too, as Spiller is a great story teller. In here he hunts big game and fishes for trout and salmon in New England and eastern Canada. Artwork by Milton C. Weiler, Foreword by H. G., Tap, Tapply. Bound in green leather with gold gilt, SIGNED by Jim Rikhoff and numbered. Tooled blue covers. This is a classic in African exploration and hunting, as attested to by the number of reprinting's it has seen. Some foxing inside covers to title pages, but none farther inside. In 1960 this set was donated to the California Academy of Sciences. So marked and with their withdrawn rubber stamp. Lower part of spines cut where the Academy numbers were. There are no other markings, no card pockets were ever in them. Otherwise the covers are very good, interiors white and clean. This 1st ed is very scarce. 2 volumes $175.
