This is a scarce 2nd edition copy, which was published by J. Bettenham in 1730. It is in well-preserved condition, and includes a full page map of Persia as a frontispiece.The book is in Good condition overall. Full leather hardboards, with faint decorative bordering. Spine with 5 raised bands. Board edges with ornate gilt dentelle, mostly faded. Leather flaking, and endbands exposed. Top and tail of spine heavily worn, and front board almost detached (hanging by a single thread). Rear hinge loose, but holding. Board corners ripped, along with a couple of rips to boards at seam. Ownership plate and inscription to front endpapers, with marked tanning to endpapers at front and rear. Wear across board edges, with some rips, and losses to leather in patches. Immaculate internally, with stiff pages. 20.5cm x 13cm. 547 pages. Text in Latin and Greek. p. 286 misnumbered p. 268, as is standard across this edition.
