Internal binding is somewhat loose, all pages still attached. Inscription to previous owner on front end page.. Tan boards with gilt lettering on spine. Gilt decorative elements on front cover. pp.61(3) + 104 plates.

London: Kegan Paul, Trench, Trubner & Co, 1894. Hardcover. Text and plates NF, but binding it totally apart, including much of text block. Covers solid but a bit scratched.. Half cloth over brown papered boards. Frontispiece, 39 pp., 17 bw plates, 34 pp., 10 plates (including 2 fold-out). The eleventh memoir of They Egypt Exploration Fund, founded in 1882 by Amelia Edwards, an Egyptologist, and Reginald Stuart Poole, a professor of archaeology. First organized to co-ordinate archaeological explorations in the Nile Valley and delta, it was supported by many leading clergymen looking for archaeological evidence of Biblical sites but became increasingly involved with the establishment of archaeology as a scientific discipline. Pages clean and bright. Remains a nice, sharp copy of this classic, historical text.

Brown paper boards with black spine, gilt cover decoration and spine titles. 66 pp. plus 278 BW photographic plates. Several BW illustrations and 8 floor plans. In German. Old Crete: arts and crafts in the Aegean cultures.

Good (Boards are heavily worn/scuffed/smudged; spine strip is heavily worn; inner hinge is cracking; binding threads are loosening on the inside; textblock is toned/scuffed/smudged; textblock is cracked; interior is clean, but toned.). Red cloth boards with black titles. Approx. 250 pp. 100 leaves of plates and additional pages of descriptive text in two languages. A large and heavy book, oversized. International and non-Continental US orders will require extra postage. In German and (we think) Arabic. Ancient Monuments of Syria, Palastine and western Arabia, 100 plates with descriptive text. Remains a nice ex-library copy. Pages have been inspected and appear clean, but, may have an errant mark, notation, etc. Pages remain fairly bright; light taning to glossier stock used for plate section. Includes 352 illustrations. Back pastedown has a navy and gilt sticker from Librairie Fischbacher of Paris.

Good+ (ex-libris w/ typed, numbered label to lower spine & matching stamp to back pastedown. leather corners, spine & edges all rubbed & scuffed. spine darkend w/ rubbing to edges, raised bands; tears to spine tail w/ some erosion. paper scuffed & scratched. front endpaper & opening pgs have dark grey dampstaining to upper & side edges; recedes & disappears by approx pg 20.). red half leather boards w/ light brown, decorative red inlaid paper; five raised bands w/ six compartment, gilt printing. variously paginated, approx 400+ pgs w/ bw illustations. Pages lightly toned.

Bound in 3/4 black leather and marble illustrated paper over boards; gilt spine lettering and 5 small raised bands; XI, 612 pp, XXIII bw plates. Volume 6 of a quarterly periodical featuring American archaeology.

Paris: E. de Boccard, Editeur, 1951. 1951 and 1955. Softcover. VG- clean and tight but with general age toning; former owner's name/date on front covers (professor of classical art). Both volumes: Grey wraps with black lettering. 75/93 pp. respectively. Deckle edges. No illustrations. Text in French. Preface by Albert Gabriel. 27 total articles about the archaeological history of Anatolian Turkey by authors of various nationalities, including some Turks.

Oxford: Oxbow Books, 1991. Softcover. VG (Top corner of book slightly bumped, otherwise crisp and clean.). Fire engine red wraps, 164 pp., BW illus. and figures. Framework text is in English and Turkish, with essays only in English but with Turkish summaries. A collection of 11 scholarly papers presented at this 1987 conference. Topics include: tin deposits in Anatolia; Iron Age pottery from Koskerbaba Hoyuk; the early Iron Age at Dilkaya; a bronze sword from Luristan; Iron Age glass; a bronze candelabrum of King Menua of Urartu; the southwestward expansion of Urartu; the Iron Age languages of Luvian and the first Iranian language' architectural origin of the Urartian standard temples; Urartian belt fragments from Burmagecit; and the Iron Age finds from Kicikisla near Karapinar. A scarce find, in itself.

Pula: Archeological Museum of Istria, 1972. Fourth. Paperback. VG- (Clean and tight but with light general wrinkling to covers.). White glossy wraps with bw image and black lettering. 48 pp. followed by 16 pp. bw illustrations. Laid in are a bw vintage postcard of a painting of the Augustov Hram (Temple), a b/w paper brochure (in English) about the Amphitheatre in Pula, and a pamphlet (in German) about the ancient Roman mosaics in Pula. Text in English. The book includes chapters on the Geographical Position of Pula, Urban Development and Urban Construction of the Ancient Roman City of Pula, and Ancient Monuments in Pula. Each chapter has several sections. With a bibliography, ground plan and scheme of the ancient findings and the bw photos.
