The custom-made box contains two volumes: a large format (9 7/8" x 11 7/8") 24 page booklet with an introductory essay and reproduction of three of the four scrolls (known as scrolls B, C, & D) in reduced size; and a second volume with the fourth scroll (known as scroll A). Scroll A (scroll of frolicking animals) is reproduced in its entirety at actual-size, mounted in folding-book form (accordian folded) with each folded sheet 10 1/4" x 12" (45 illustrated sheets in all). Scroll A is bound in linen covered rigid boards with paper labels of the title in Japanese and English inset into the upper board. The scroll illustrations are generally attributed to Toba Sojo (aka Kakuyu & The Abbot of Toba) born in 1053 A.D. There is a gift inscription on the title page of the booklet; otherwise all is pristine.
