Austin: 2/5 Australian Armoured Regiment., 1948. Unpagined (approx 100pp), colour patch. Blue cloth with regimentalbadge in gilt to front. Slightest of flecking to cloth, some light toning/foxing to prelims, lacking rear free endpaper. Basically a list of members of the regiment with lined pages opposite (possibly for autographs?). The ownership detail inside front cover has not been completed and there are no signatures throughout. Probably produced for a regimental reunion- no date (c1948/50).. First Edition. Hard Cover. Lionel Veale describes his sixth and final mission as a Coastwatcher in World War Two with details of other missions conducted by the Australian Intelligence Bureau in Queensland and in Port Moresby, New Guinea. This book is more than just a personal account as the author enlisted the help of other Coastwatchers to describe missions other than his own, to New Britain, Hollandia and adjacent islands as well as on New Guinea.
