(San Antonio: Southern Album Company), 1960. Hardcover. Very Good. 6.5" x 4" notebook kept by D.F. Wells, used for note taking while training with the United States Air Force in 1960. Notebook is very good with rubbing, years, and some toning. Roughly 65 pages of handwritten notes taken while undergoing training with the United States Air Force from January until May 1960. An early page states, "mission functions of the Air Force: gain and maintain air supremacy, to organize and equip the U.S. against air attacks, to maintain close combat support with the frontline forces, and develop weapons and tactics." Included are lessons on everything from first aid to how to write up a will; "the executor of a will should be a faithful friend." Wells draws detailed illustrations of missiles, "falcon," sidewinder," "genie," and "rascal," among others, all separated into categories such as "air to air" and "air to surface." New York: The Norman W. Henley Publishing Company, 1919. Hardcover. Very Good. 1919 edition. Octavo. 274, 33pp. ads. Heavily illustrated with diagrams, photographs, and one fold-out. Binding a bit loose and moderately worn, vertical creases on both boards, a just about very good copy of an interesting book. A notice at the beginning of the book states that the author did not have the ability to read the proofs before being called to France for service, and that the publishers would appreciate readers bringing any errors to their attention. In keeping with the romantic spirit of early aviation, owner name of C.E. Steele of Dodge City, Kansas, with a few penciled equations, on the rear pastedown. Steele was an early aviator and author of Steele's *Aid to Pilots*, an early guide to help aviators understand new Civil Air Regulations. Uncommon, and a nice association.
