Slate-gray stamped cloth, maroon & color illus. dust jacket, 368 pp., many BW & color illus. Text is in German and English. A volume issued for the 100th anniversary of the "Bibliotheca Hertziana" at the Max Planck Institute in Munich, Germany. This art history research facility grew from the collections of Henriette Hertz (1846-1913). Includes chronological essays by Sybille Ebert-Schifferer, Julia Laura Rischbieter, Andreas Thielemann, Ralph-Miklas Dobler, Wolfgang Schieder, Annette Vogt, Agostino Paravicini Bagliani, Michael Matheus, Christof Thoenes, Herwarth Rottgen, Kai Kappel, Valentino Pace, Georg Satzinger, Dale Kinney, Sebastian Schutze, Michael Schmitz, and Regine Schallert. The majority of the text is in German, and English summaries of the essays appear in a group at the end of the book.

Coffee cloth/boards with white lettering on spine. Bw-illus. dj with orange title block and white lettering on black spine. 211 pp. with over 300 bw illus. A survey through colonial newspapers, almanacs, Ben Franklin's contributions, William Caslon's types (used in the first printings of the Declaration of Independence), "Gothic Revival", and technical innovations since then, up to the mid-1970s.

Red cloth on boards with embossed seal and gold lettering, matching board slipcase, 143 pp, 50 color and BW plates. A catalogue for an exhibition of 50 illustrated books in the collection of the Boston Atheneum. Images from each of the books show illustrations, binding, or other images special to each book.

Scarce.

New York: A-D Publishing, 1942. Softbound. VG- lightest wear. Red, white and blue patriotic image color cover. Unpaginated, appx. 160 pp. with several sub-publications contained inside. This was the final issue of this useful and resource-rich production. This issue states that production was being suspended to aid in the war effort then in full-swing. Included in this issue is an important listing of all those who had contributed to the publication in any way since it's inception as P-D years before. Filled with paper samples and typeset samples, extremely useful.

Hart and old bookseller's catalogue entry pasted in upper left corner of inside front board. Red paper-covered boards half-bound in cloth, Roxburghe style. Top edge gilt (T.e.g.) . 114 pp. with much additional tipped-in material from contemporary newspapers at the end, column-style. Quite scarce. This copy has a gift inscription from the author to Charles H. Hart pasted into the front of it, as well as Hart's bookplate. Very nice. NOT A POD!

"A complex and intimate relationship gradually unfolds between a tough and spirited, yet frail Vermont lady, and an enthusiastic, aggressive, continually learning collector." (dust jacket liner) Daniels has since donated his collection to the National Sporting Library and Museum in Middleburg, Virginia.
