35 pp. small folio, (10.75 x 13.25 in.). Black-line (diazotype) folded leaves bound with cloth tape. Probably dates to the late thirties. Songs in an unknown professional scribal hand. Lyrics and additional verses in typescript, some songs with notes regarding singers and sources. To my knowledge, these songs were never published except in this form.

New York: Scribner Book Store unpag., 388 items. Circa 1938 or 1939. Wrappers are bright, but much chipping where they extend beyond the text block, else the text is bright and unmarked. Overall a dramatic effect, faults not yet overwhelming the startling design. Interesting, relatively long descriptions of classic books from a legendary book store.. Wraps. A curved depression and associated stain to front board, causing a curve in bottom of spine with short tears to cloth, otherwise light wear to corners of boards. A dampstain of bottom third to half extends throughout volume causing browning. P.O. inscription on ffep., which has a 1-inch piece torn out. 6 plates, sharp, nicely inked, possibly missing frontis. With all its faults, still a pleasing volume.
