At rear is a list of technical books published by Pitman & Sons on art and craft work, draughtsmanship, science, foundrywork and metallurgy, mineralogy and mining, civil engineering and building, aviation, motor engineering, optics and photography, telegraphy, telephony, wireless, and much more.

Toronto, nd. Very good. Two crds, one 23 cm, the other 17 cm. The larger contains 20 samples of the special heavy rug wool "Orient" for rugmaking with the Monarch Needle No. 2. The shorter 24 examples of the 4 ply knitting yarn "Orient", the best for hand knitting and rug making with the Monarch Needle No. 1. Reverse gives instructions for ordering.

Buffalo: J. B. Young & Co, 1898. Hardcover. Fair. Pages 72-104. 34 cm. 12 p. of b&w illustrations, some coloured (some probably by a former owner). Red cloth with black print. Covers soiled with some wrinkling to cloth. Leaflets glued to pastedowns. Both hinges cracking internally. Ink inscription (Miss Maud Carter, Pt. Rowan) on front free endpaper. Some chips and tears to front endpapers, thumbing throughout. Tear in bottom of rear page. Ink stamp on rear page has marked opposite page. A few clippings inserted at rear, poetry, not Columbian decorative art. Designs from embroidery exhibited at the World's Fair eg. Scotch thistle, orange blossom centre piece, shamrock doyly, pin cushion in Honiton Roman embroidery.

Based on a film called Contemporary Silversmithing - the Stretching Method by John Paul Miller and Frederick A. Miller. Film was available to schools and art and craft groups through Handy & Harman's Craft Service Department.
