Engraving from an original painting by William Hogarth at the time in the possession of Mr. Robert Ray. Depicts House of Commons members examining Thomas Bambridge for murder in the Fleet Prison at which he was Warden. According to Tate, the title is incorrect in that Bambridge is being examined in the Fleet Prison rather than being tried at the Old Bailey where his trial was held. See image. Foxing to verso. Overall 21 1/2 x 17 1/4 inches.

This statement, dated June 15, 1963, comes from an accompanying letter by the Director of Public Relations, Pedro Muiña. It seems the original recipient of this booklet donated to their cause as the bottom of the letter, which is requesting funds, has been torn along a guiding cut line (see image). Contains the confessions of the youthful Cooke and Tomlinson, who were executed on the basis of burglary in 1812 despite the pleas for mercy from their victims.
