NYC: Chelsea House Pub., 1969 This OVERSIZED hard cover is in VERY GOOD CONDITION. The dust jacket is in good condition, with edge wear, a small tear and a corner chip. 433 pages includes an index, bound in yellow cloth with black lettering. Some slight surface discoloration on covers. HINGES AND BINDING STRONG AND TIGHT. Contents includes introductions by Arthur M. Schlesinger and S.J. Perelman. This book was written in 1886, and contains biographical sketches of some 400 of the nation's leading criminals, including their photographs. Each biographical sketch details the crime committed and the circumstances leading up to arrest and conviction. This book is a chronicle of crime, a bizarre turn-of-the century rogues gallery of sneaks, embezzlers, murderers, men and women, as well as a serious study in statistics and sociology. VERY GOOD, TIGHT COPY. FANTASTIC READING!

Small owners name plate on end paper. BINDING AND HINGES STRONG AND TIGHT. Book is enhanced by numerous color and B&W photographs. Contents include a preface by LBJ, and the words of JFK re: Man and the Land, Man and the Arts, Man and His Dignity and an Epilogue and Eulogy. GOOD TIGHT COPY.

Two leaves show a closed edge tear, two leaves show corner loss, not affecting the text.
