Moderate soiling and spotting to covers, contents are toned and occasionall lightly spotted, but mostly clean. cover barely attached. A story told in rhyme for each letter of the alphabet, with each letter accompanied by a small but finely-detailed engraving, extolling the wonders of Wistar's Balsam of Wild Cherry for numerous ailments, plus testimonials and endorsements for Peruvian Syrup. A very attractive primer, and it has nothing to do with vinegar!

Covers edgeworn, spine ends chipped, endpapers foxed and occasional foxing to text, owner's name and an inscription on front free endpaper, hinges cracking but holding. text block is sound.

Errata page showing new enrollment fees partially lifted and "Professional References" has been covered over. A fascinating promotional booklet extolling the virtues of "the greatest school of its kind in the world...taught thoroughly and rapidly by expert instructors trained by Prof. George A. Bodee.

Half red leather, marbled boards, gilt lettering and decoration to spine. Front cover detached but present, rear cover loose but holding, spine chipped, boards edgeworn and scuffed. Endpapers foxed and stained, contents age-toned, but otherwise clean and firmly bound. Instructional information on dental care, treatments, appliances, proceedings of dental societies, obituaries of recently deceased dentists and many illustrations.

Dust jacket is worn and several pieces torn from upper edge.

Chipping to spine ends and corners, light insecting to joints, contents are age-toned and occasionally foxed, binding is tight, newspaper clippings pinned to rear endpaper, owner's name in pencil on front endpaper, title page corner chipped. Numerous engraved illustrations.

Profusely illustrated with highly detailed engravings of dental instruments and equipment.

What's interesting about this volume, is the inscription on the front free endpaper : "Pasteur said: Study great men and worship them, little realizing that he was one. The inspiration which I received from this book won for me two trips to Europe. I hope it takes you around the world. Jan. 11, 1923 Pasteur Centennial." Author's inscription?

Book could be restored to very presentable condition. First American Edition, from the first London Edition.

Numerous illustrations and many illustrated ads. A fascinating look at hospital and medical nearly a century ago.

Covers heavily worn, scuffed and chipped, front board nearly detached, spine label mostly illegible, contents are shaken and tanned, a few pages are loose, but text is complete, owner's name and date (Oct. 1, 1885) on front free endpaper. Many illustrations of dental instuments and techniques.

Chipping and lower 1/4 of backstrip missing, covers lightly worn, contents have scattered foxing but otherwise sound and binding is tight. Tipped-into the text is an old handwritten prescription from a druggist in West Meriden, Connecticut.
