A good clear image. Upper left background of photograph cracked and has been re-inforced on verso, card backing has been mounted to grey paper. Crack is quite noticeable but does not effect the author's image or writing. Corners a bit worn, else good..

William Cullen Bryant (1794 - 1878). This handsome cabinet card portrait photograph was taken in 1877 by Napoleon Sarony. Excellent tone and condition - a first rate example..
