Allows parents to fill in birth announcement, family names, first words, etc. Nothing filled in. Possibly produced by Gray's Dry Goods, the only advertiser, located at Ottawa and Gladstone streets, Windsor, Ontario.

Winnipeg, Man, 1923. Staplebound. Good. Folio 42318, No. 129. Unpaginated. 22 cm. Some b&w illustrations. Blue card covers. Some stains and some small chips and tears to edges. Some faint spots on first pages. Staples rusting. Baby's development, nursery, health, food and feeding, clothing, out-of-door life, weight, teeth, symptoms of disease, etc.

New York: Dodge Publishing Company, 1906. Hardcover. Very good. Bessie Collins Pease. [63.]. 17 cm. 20 colour illustrations. Pink cloth hardcover with gold and red impressing. A little soiling. Ink inscription on back of frontispiece. Thumb mark on page 51. A bit of label residue on rear pastedown. This vintage (and unused) baby book is filled with verses by Edmund Vance Cooke, popularly known as "the poet laureate of childhood," born on June 5, 1866, in Port Dover, Ontario. What makes the book stand out, however, are the cute and colourful illustrations by Bessie Pease Gutmann (1876–1960), an American artist and illustrator most noted for her paintings of cherubs, infants and young children. During the early 1900s Gutmann was considered one of the better-known magazine and book illustrators in the United States.

London: R. and J. Dodsley, 1763. Full-Leather. Fair. vii, 373 p. 18 cm. Full leather, marbled endpapers. Boards detached, but present. Worn corners and spine. Armorial bookplate for "E. H. Greene" of Hinxton, Cambsh. on front endpaper. Pencil notes on endpapers and Errata. Signature for "Edward Chapman" on title page in red ink. James Nelson (1710-1794) was one of the first health experts to suggest regular meals for children, along with suggestions as to what they should be fed, including "Garden Stuff" and "Small Beer" (pages 125-6). He also advocates breast milk over cow's milk whenever possible (page 66). Highly readable and entertaining to this day.

St. Catharines, Ont., nd. Booklet. Near fine. 24 p. 13 cm. Small partial-colour illustrations. Stapled paper covers. Light soiling. Instructions for party games like Hide the Thimble, Twenty Questions, Spinning the Platter, Pin the Tail on the Donkey, etc. At rear are party menus, not surprisingly featuring Welch's grape juice.

London: Longman, Rees, Orme, Brown and Green, 1827. Hardcover. Good. x, 311p. 19.5 cm hardcover binding. Inscription on front endpaper: "Presented to his brother William Robertson with best wishes for his happiness by the Author." Original binding worn with deterioration to spine. Original spine label darkened but present. Boards held on with duct tape. Claret boards also stained, scuffed and worn. Inside, the pages are clean and the text unmarked. Inscription is by John Robertson (1797-1876) but it is not signed with his name. Dr. Robertson specialized the study of pregnancy and child development, and is an important figure in the development of modern obstetrics. He wrote numerous books on the subject, including this one. He was also an important UK social reformer speaking out on issues such as landowner responsibility, and education in Ireland.

Illustrations in partial colour. A children's book as well as a book for mother about care of children's feet and how feet grow.
