Wear to edges and spine, but secure. Contents are clean. The Museum's missions, goals, accomplishments and its needs for increased endowment. This is an attractively designed promotional brochure "made possible by the joint labors of American Museum officials, scientists, artists, photographers and printers." Accompanied by many illustrations.

Homewood, IL: Richard D Irwin, Inc., 1975. First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good. 384pp. Corners lightly rubbed, superficial split to front joint, contents are clean and sound. SIGNED INSCRIPTION by author on front free endpaper. An introductory text in statistics.

London: W. Inny's and R. Manby, 1735. Hardcover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [16], 435,[13] pp, 17 folding plates. Contemporary calf. Covers detached and worn but present, spine worn. Contents tanned and occasional light margin soil, endpapers and title page edge-darkened, Burgiss Allison's name and stamp ont title page, notations on endpapers, text block is solid. Contents are complete, but will require some restoration.

Brown cloth, gilt lettering and decoration to cover and spine, blind-stamping to covers, marbled edges, floral endpapers. Unusual to find this book in such clean and sound condition. The author traces the advancement of science and industry across a broad spectrum from chemistry and electricity to pickles and vinegar.

Extremities very lightly rubbed, faint spot near top edge, contents tanned but clean. SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR in pencil on front free endpaper "Mrs. Francis B. Key, Somers, Conn." , short margin tear to one chart. An attempt to promote selective breeding by means of segregation and sterilization of "the socially unfit.

Phildelphia: Thomas, Cowperthwait & Co. , 1846. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. 288pp. Full leather, gilt lettering to spine. Very light wear, small ll abrasions to rear board, light foxing mainly to first and last few pages, binding is tight and sound. In this edition a curious error has occurred on the title page; gauging is misspelled as guaging(sic).

What's interesting about this volume, is the inscription on the front free endpaper : "Pasteur said: Study great men and worship them, little realizing that he was one. The inspiration which I received from this book won for me two trips to Europe. I hope it takes you around the world. Jan. 11, 1923 Pasteur Centennial." Author's inscription?

American Telephone and Telegraph Company, 1935. Soft cover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 36pp. Stapled stiff blue wraps. Spine rubbed, otherwise clean and sound. Traces the history of the telephone form Alexander Graham Bell in 1876 to 1935, when the pamphlet was published.

A concise account of the metric system and how to understand it.
