Disbound, octavo, pp. 29. Light vertical crease at page centers throughout, as from a gentle folding, and light, very old tide lines at top edges of last several leaves. Withal, about GOOD, and ensconced now in a clear protective display sleeve with white cardstock board.

Allen and Morrill, Printers. Theological pamphlet, removed from a bound volume, octavo, pp. 30. Light foxing, and the letter "D" is written in a small hand at the top of the title page. Generally very good. American Imprints 41-1724.

Stapled card-stock wrappers, small octavo, pp. 146 followed by pp. [16] of a portrait of the author; a poem; and progress reports concerning his Evangelical efforts. A bit of a fragile affair, with loss of substantial amount of paper from spine. Some wear and loss at wrapper tips, as well. Sound and unmarked internally.

Publisher's original pebbled red cloth with spine lettering gilt, octavo, pp. xiv, 108. Black and white illustrations. Just very light foxing on top edge of text block, and fore-edge of upper board extends slightly farther than fore-edge of lower board, as in an overbite. Dust jacket with a nick or two along perimeter but protected now in a sheet of removable Brodart.

Publisher's black boards with silver spine lettering, octavo, pp. xv, 203. Just light shelf wear.

Maroon hardcover with silver spine and upper board lettering, quarto, pp. 479. Very Good condition. Dust jacket was not issued with this title.

Publisher's blue cloth with black spine lettering, octavo, pp. 315. GOOD condition, with mild shelf rubbing on lower edges and foxing on top edge. A few faint thin streaks of blue on the fore-edge, likely from rubbing against another copy in publisher's original packing process (Please see image for our best attempt at a close-up). Dust jacket Good-only with random shelf rubs and some shelf wear at spine ends, all prior to the new protective sheet of Brodart we have provided.

Wraps, 16mo, pp. 16. Handwritten pagination in ink at top edges: pp. 277-295. Wrappers numbered, as well: [1]-2-3-[4]. Fair-only with shelf and handling wear. Ensconced now in a clear protective display sleeve with white cardstock backing board.

Publisher's original stapled wrappers, 32mo (approximately 5 inches in height by 6 inches in width), pp. 39. Black and white illustrations. FAIR-only, with nicks, small holes, and shelf discoloration on the wrappers. Clean and unmarked internally. A fragile affair overall, now ensconced in a clear protective display sleeve with white card-stock backing board. A scarce item, both in trade or institutional holdings, with a 2024 OCLC search returning no results.

Publisher's stapled printed wrappers, octavo, pp. 87. This is a worn volume with age toning and some creasing on the wrapper edges. Staples are rusty. An old stain on rear panel near top edge (see photo). Clean and unmarked internally. Safely stored now in a clear new Ultra-Pro display sleeve.

Stapled light brown wrappers, octavo, pp. [12]. Some modest edge wear to the fragile paper. Title page has worked loose from the binding and is essentially laid in. Leaves toned. GOOD withal. This edition uncommon in trade or institutional holdings, with an October 2020 OCLC search returning Auburn University only.

Removed from a bound volume, octavo, pp. [ii], [3]-32. The first page of text is page 3, but it is mis-numbered as 1. Foxing and page toning. A narrow strip of the original blue front wrapper (2 1/2 inches vertically) is stuck onto the title page near the spine but does not obscure any print. Ensconced now in a clear protective display sleeve with white cardstock backing board.

Publisher's glossy card-stock wrappers, octavo, pp. xvi, 157. Warm presentation inscription from author to unnamed previous owner on the title page. Very good with mild shelf and handling wear.

Hardcover, octavo, pp. xiii, 326. Illustrated. Very good in the publisher's black cloth with spine lettering gilt. Dust jacket ensconced in a sheet of archival mylar.

Removed from a bound volume, octavo, pp. 16. Scuffing along spine with bits of the binding string exposed, otherwise condition is GOOD and done-up handsomely by the skillful printer Smith. On the Faculty at this time was noted Theologian Enoch Pond (1791-1882). Also of note are John Sawyer, Eliphalet Gillet, and Kiah Bayley listed among the Trustees. These three and several others were instrumental in the founding of the Seminary, which was initially the Maine Charity School. Indeed, the manuscript charter document is written in the hand of Bayley. Uncommon in trade or institutional holdings, with a July 2023 OCLC search returning American Antiquarian Society and Library Company of Philadelphia only. Protected in a clear display sleeve with white card-stock backing-board. Williamson, Bibliography of the State of Maine, Volume 1, Number 580, states 12 pages, but there are 16.
