This is a pristine copy of Caning and Rushwork, an illustrated guide to the repair of basketry, rushwork and cane pieces. It was written by Yvonne Rees, editor of Home Improvement Guides. 95 pages, full of photographs and drawings. This copy has not been read, or even opened. There are no marks of any kind in or on it.

It was written by the British DIY and maintenance experts Albert Jackson and David Day.It contains key skills and hints for all levels of experience, tips on how to browse markets and check the condition of second-hand furniture, basic upholstery and wood repair, techniques for restoring and replacing finishes, and on furniture preservation.Large soft cover.160 pages with 700+ colour illustrations and photos.Near-mint condition, with small marks on two pages.

This is an excellent copy of The English Country Chair, by the English furniture historian Ivan Sparkes. There are copies available in Europe; in North America, it's quite rare.It was first published in 1973. Sparkes revised and updated it and it was reprinted, in soft cover, in 1977. This is one of those revised copies.The back cover text reads "From the Chiltern beechwoods to the markets, and thus to the homes of the world, came the English Chair, designed, developed and built by a rare breed of craftsmen. This is their story, illustrated with many original photographs, describing the history of a living English craft." 6 1/4" x 8 1/2" soft cover.160 pages including loads of photographs.The original owner read it to page 19, put a little dogear on the page and did not read it further.The cover show shelfwear at the edges; the remains of the price tag are still on the front.The inside is perfect.

This is the first/only printing of Highland Bagpipe Makers, Second Edition by the Scottish historian Jeannie Campbell. The first edition was a best-seller; in this edition, she finds more bagpipe makers, expands on previously published information, and adds more illstrations. There is also a new section on people were were bagpipe makers but worked for others, and there is more information on materials.
This is a $50 book but it has had a spill. At the front of the book, there is waving to the pages, there are a few stained pages, and two pages are stuck together, at the bottom corner. Otherwise fine.

This is a first edition, first printing, of Progressive Lessons in Machine Shop Practice, Book I. It was produced as a textbook by Harry A Jones, Machine Shop Instructor at Vancouver Technical School, and the title page states that it was authorized for use in the schools of British Columbia. However, it quickly became an international best-seller and was used in schools throughout the world--this copy was purchased in the UK. See table of contents photo: everything covered is illustrated. This copy is in superb condition. 172 pages, only slightly yellowed with age. The paper is fine and smooth. The fading you see in the photos only appears in photos. There are a couple of fingerprints. Two students signed the book, one at the front, one at the back. Other than that, it is perfect. And all still relevant to woodworkers and cabinetmakers.

There is very minor wear to the cover of this book, but it has not been read; the inside is in pristine condition.

This is a first edition copy of Sotheby's Caring for Antiques: The Complete Guide to Handling, Cleaning, Display and Restoration, published in 1992 and written by curators at the famed British auction house.
It is a beautiful book, very high-end, heavily illustrated and telling you how to look after everything from jewellery to furniture to scientific instruments to paintings.

This is a stated first edition of The Ultimate Guide to Woodworking, published in the Netherlands in 2006 by Rebo Publishing, a company which produced very high-end how-to books.It contains pretty much everything you need to know--wood, tools, techniques, cabinetmaking, workshop outfitting etc. The Table of Contents is 4 pages and the book weighs 4 1/2 lbs.427 pages, with hundreds of photographs, including pages of step-by-step images.This book doesn't appear to have been read, and the front of it is in mint condition. But someone did spill something on it. This resulted is a small brown stain, and minor puckering of the paper, from page 311 to 427. (That's why it's priced the way it is.)

Henry O. Studley (1838–1925) was a New England organ and piano maker, carpenter and stonemason who built a very famous mahogany cabinet for 250 of his tools. His cabinet and workbench are privately owned and this book is the only way of seeing Studley's masterpiece.

It was first published in 2009 then updated in 2016.
It covers everything from how to choose and cut lumber to how to plan, measure, mark, cut, shape and join.
It is packed with practical information and 600 full-color photographs. 256 pages.

This is the soft cover edition of the Workshop Idea Book, written by the American woodworker Andy Rae. It is all about designing the perfect workshop, given the space you have, and Rae gathered ideas from woodworkers throughout the US.
