Shrewsbury: Adnitt and Naunton, 1875. First complete edition, printed from one of the original manuscripts, and reproducing in facsimile the title page, and plans of the church, spelling has not been modernised, red/brown cloth with blind stamp designs, and gilt lettering on the front (Gough's History of Myddle 1700-1701), some wear and marking to cloth and board edges, corners bumped and frayed, spine is faded, some dust and foxing to edges, two small black strips to front pastedown, some foxing to grey endpapers and prelims, including the title page plate and its tissue guard, internally pages and other plates are very good; substantially a very pleasing copy of a medieval classic of topography and genealogy. 'Four Minsters Round the Wrekin' from the same publisher, 1877 first edition, also available (copies in leather and cloth).. First Thus. Hardcover. Very Good.

Very scarce and attractive volume, in the original blind-decorated and panelled red leather boards, floral designs to upper and lower panels of both boards, gilt titles and leaf design to front cover, gilt lettering to spine, rubbing/wear to corners and to spine at head and heel and along its length (lettering clear), all edges gilt, blue ribbon marker is detached from its anchor in the spine, hinges good, endpapers may have been replaced (?), foxing stains to prelims, title page and frontispiece plate, showing the abbey seals, also some foxing to text pages within, but not serious; 8 sepia photographs, all generally in very good condition; 4 abbey plans, all with some foxing, but more to Buildwas and Lilleshull [sic]; 4 fold-out drawings of the abbeys, all with slight foxing, more to Wenlock; the stitching is strained at various points, more seriously in two places, with cracking and straining, (the pages protrude at the… Leer más

New Zealand: Dominion Museum Monograph No. 8, 1952. Predominantly very good red cloth, one corner bumped, spine ends pushed, owner name to front free endpaper, internally very good, profusely illustrated; plate on page 145 has been repaired with cellotape that has slightly abraided the text opposite, and yellowed the verso; d/w is rubbed, chipped and creased with small tears and minor losses, cellotape repairs to flaps.. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Good.

Some cracking/fraying to spine, wear/abrasion to corners, dust/browning to edges, cracking to hinges but binding sound, foxing to prelims, spotting within but text generally good (one page torn).
