Also includes shorter biographies of the faculty members of ISC during the 1940's. Plastic comb-bound with clear covers. 51 pages. 11 x 8.5 inches. The alumni appear to have responded to a request for updated biographical information and provided contact details, family and career info, and some anecdotes and memories of their time at Iowa State. Of course, at the time this was produce, some were either deceased or were unable to be located. Some information is given for some of these as well. The story is set in Chicago upon the advent of the Chicago World's Fair of 1893, which opened on May 1st, a few days after the publishing of this issue of the Old Cap. Collier Library. Anthony Paschall Morris, Jr. (1849-1921) lived and worked in Chicago, roughly between the years 1885 and 1895, and then moved to the Bay Area in California. He was a descendant of the influential Morris family of Philadelphia, wealthy Quaker colonists who were prominent in Pennsylvania's civic and business life.

A scarce copy of Catherwood's novel for young readers, which tells of the many adventures of a family traveling by covered wagon from Ohio to western Illinois in the 1840s. Mary Hartwell Catherwood (1847-1902) was the author of about twenty book between 1875 and 1901. The thirty-seven illustrations were done by Henry Pruett Share (1853-1905).
