The slipcase has a few surface edge-chips on its reverse back side panel; its front panel is decorated with a batik/sun/jets illustration; title pyrographically stamped on spine. The first volume pictorially documents this WESTPAC cruise, which departed from Alameda, California on 12 Dec 1961, had ports of call at Honolulu, Subic Bay, Sasebo, Yokosuka, Kobe, and Hong Kong, and returned to Alameda on 16 Jul 1962. The second volume is the ''Crew's Who'' volume with pictures of ship personnel, officers and sailors, each identified by last name, first and middle initials, and rating. The USS Coral Sea (CVA-43) was a Midway-class aircraft carrier, commissioned in 1947 and decommissioned in 1990.

Gives name, address, the span of time aboard the Craven, typically with a picture or two and some other life/family detail. Also includes about twenty pages of vintage and current photographs (without captions) and a dozen pages of remembrances written by several members of the crew. Laid-in is a commemorative booklet with portraits from the sixth reunion of the Craven, held in 1993 at Williamsburg, Virginia. The USS Craven (DD-382) was a Gridley-class destroyer commissioned in the United States Navy from 1937 to 1946, active in the Pacific during World War II.

The cruise departed from Long Beach and had ports in Hawaii, Australia, Japan, Okinawa (including a Bob Hope Show a few days before Christmas), the Philippines, Hong Kong, and returned to Long Beach by way of Hawaii.

In the spring of 1959 she set out again with ports at Pearl Harbor, Midway, Guam, Taiwan, Japan, Hong Hong, and returned again to Long Beach by way of Pearl Harbor.

The Boxer departed San Diego on 30 Mar 1953, joined Task Force 77, engaged in strategic bombing missions and provided close air support for UN troops until the armistice was reached in July. She remained in Korean waters until November 1953. The USS Boxer (CVA-21) was an Essex-class aircraft carrier, commissioned in 1945 and decommissioned in 1969.

Osterhoudt, deployed with the 7th Fleet in the Western Pacific from October 1964 through May 1965. During the cruise, she is known to have conducted Anti-Submarine Warfare off of the coast of Vietnam in the early months of 1965. With photographs on every page, this book commemorates not only the men, but the ports of call, the operational departments, and sailors aboard the aircraft carrier presenting America's strength at the start of the Vietnam War. Includes a full cruise roster (noting each person's department, rate, and home city/state).

Approximately half of the graduates have a handwritten note next to them with some details of their service, including dates of retirement, resignation, or dismissal. Many are noted as having been in naval aviation (as was the original owner of this volume), and there are several who noted as "killed in aviation," usually with date of death. This copy belonged to Class of 1918 graduate Henry Samuel Kendall (1896-1963) of Baltimore. At the time of his resignation in 1952, he held the rank of Vice Admiral.
