It is tight and clean and the lively hand-colored plates are sharp and bright.. Illustrated by Thirty-two plates, with Memoir and portrait of Sir Hans Sloane. An engraved title page and two accompanying title pages.. This, the fifth volume in the original set, is bound with explanatory text accompanying each plate. Some other volumes of this early edition have all plates bound in the back. Later sets changed the numbering of the volumes. The first 92 pp. are devoted to the naturalist, Sir Hans Sloane.

Interior is clean and plates are in lovely condition. No foxing. Damp stain along external joint of back cover. It does not affect the interior at all.. Illustrated with thirty-two plates colored plates and numerous wood-cuts.. Lovely hand-colored engraved title page is one of three title pages. 264 pp. of text. Frontispiece portrait of M. Le Comte de Lacepede and a 16 pp. Memoir of him.

Book is complete and clean. A few faint smudges here and there. There is hardly any foxing. Plates are in very good to fine condition. Binding is weak at the back of the book; signatures of plates are loosening but still holding.. Illustrated by Thirty-three coloured plates, with portrait and memoir of Pallas. Volume IX in the Naturalist's Library Collection. This book is Volume I devoted to Dogs. There is a frontispiece portrait and an engraved title page (shown in my photos) and there are 31 consecutively numbered plates in the back of the book: 30 of individual canines and the last plate shows canine skulls.
