London: Dennis Archer, 1932. First edition. Hardback. One of limited edition of only 250 copies. With gilt and black design to front board, and burnt orange cloth spine. Boards a little darkened at edges, pages slightly age-toned. Overall a good,clean example. 63 pages. 255 x 160 mm (10 x 6¼ inches). Carter was a close friend and confidante of Lawrence. They planned to write together about mysticism, symbolism, Man's place in the Universe - and so much more. In fact, they were almost ready to publish a book together when Lawrence died.

Namur: : Chez Lafontaine, 1787. First Edition. Two broadsheets / decrees from the Emperor Joseph II. Both are single sheets, printed to one side. Each has a woodcut vignette to the top edge. The first, is a decree, condemning the Papal Bull Damnatio & Prohibitio libri Germanic idiomate editi, cui titulus, Was ist der Pabst. The second proclamation from Emperor Joseph II, published 5 months later, making it clear that despite his earlier decree, there is no disagreement with the Bull's content. His decrees "Concerns only the form and the distribution on the said Bull". Both of the decrees are a little darkened, with a touch of nicking to the edges. Overall in sound condition. Produced in the Austrian Netherlands. Belgium (as it is now known) was ruled by the Habsburgs for most of the Eighteenth century, before being annexed by the French in 1795. A little marking to the cloth, with slight staining and rubbing to gilt design. Previous owner's name to front end paper. Internally slight markings but overall in very good condition. 48 pp. 235 x 185 mm (9¼ x 7¼ inches).

Orpington : George Allen , 1885. Edited from the original edition of 1823, with four new verses by John Ruskin, and matching illustrations by Kate Greenaway. Twenty two woodcuts in black. Hardback in brown cloth with gilt title and decoration to front board. Plain endpapers, with some darkening. Spine ends a little worn. Back board with patch of sun fading. Clean and very tidy inside. Only verso or recto of each leaf is printed. Complete. Overall in good shape. iv, 20 pages 190 x 125 mm (7½ x 5 inches).

London: William Heinemann, 1905. First edition. This novel was turned in to a (now lost) silent film in 1920. Bound in green cloth, with black and silver decoration to the front. Silver title to spine. 368 pages. 200 x 130 mm (7¾ x 5 inches). Elizabeth Robins was an American actor, playwright, novelist, and important suffragette. For a time Robins wrote under the name C. E. Raimond in an attempt to keep her acting and writing careers separate. Covers lightly rubbed, spine very slightly faded. Prelims are moderately foxed, page edges also. Otherwise a good copy.

Wien: M. Trentsensky, 1860. First Edition, Circa 1860. A lovely set of six lithographs from the series Das Alpenleben. Published by Trentsensky and printed by E. Sieger, the full set comprised of 12 lithographs, each with a number of vignettes of alpine life upon them. We offer numbers 1-6 (So half a set). Our sheets are beautifully hand coloured. The base area of each is painted grey, suggesting that these were intended as cut out sheets (or "mandl sheets" ) for children to play with. The plates are in good, clean condition, on thin paper. This is somewhat toned with age. There is minimal edgewear, but a few very minor closed tears to the edges. Each sheet is  235 by 370mm (9¼ by 14½ inches). . Première édition, vers 1860. Library discard stamp to the title page - otherwise clean and tidy glossy pages throughout. An analysis of foreign press reports about the Nazi Party, its policies and its leaders. Numerous political cartoons. Published on behalf of the NSDAP. Bomer was the head of the Press department of the Foreign policy department of the Nazi party. 173, [i] pp. 230 by 160mm (9 by 6¼ inches).

München: Verlag der Jugendblätter (Carl Schnell), 1910. A lovely copy of this first edition - scarce in its original protective slipcase. Book is in beautiful original condition. Clean blue cloth with a picture of a small boy driving a carriage tipped onto the front board and gilt titles and decoration around and to the spine. No significant marking or bumping to the boards - in excellent condition. Inside in excellent, clean and unmarked condition. The card slipcase is a little darkened / foxed with age. Publication details are on a paper label pasted to the slipcase. Although this has a little bumping / edgewear - it has done its part and kept the book in near perfect condition. Germany: NA, 1982. An original manuscript. Text in German. Half pink silk Hardback with black leaves. Home made label to the front board. In addition to the blank end paper and illustrated title page, there are 8 further leaves, inked to one side only. The foreword explains how this is a tale picked up from Elves dancing in the round in the forest. There are then six leaves which contain verses in manuscript, and a silhouette drawing to each leaf. Finally, there is a naive end paper with the moon and sheep. The boards are in sound but slightly rubbed and bumped condition. London: Hodder and Stoughton , 1905. Second Edition, but published in the same year as the First. In red embossed percaline hardback boards, with gilt stamped title and design to front and spine. Signed dedication to front reads 'Miss Ada v. d. Poorten Schwartz from Claudius Clear, Hampstead Oct 6 1906'. This to the daughter of the author/poet Maarten Maartens. Sir William Robertson Nicoll was a Scottish Free Church minister, writer, journalist and editor. He was literary adviser to the evangelical English publishing house Hodder and Stoughton, with whom he founded the Nonconformist publication 'British Weekly'. Within this he began a highly popular feature called 'Correspondence of Claudius Clear'. This book is a collection of thirty essays. Boards are overall in good shape, with one or two darker finger marks. Inside the book has mild to moderate foxing throughout. xi, 350 pp. 205 x 140 mm (8 x 5½ inches).

Beautifully illustrated throughout with colour vignettes, words and music to nine charming songs. Boards are rubbed and book has been dropped at some point so top right corner has some creasing, otherwise good and clean. 29 pages. 250 x 215 mm (9¾ x 8½ inches).

1896. An engraved poster welcoming the new year of 1896. A naked woman representing 1896 is at the helm of a boat, which has the debris of 1895 in its wake. Tipped onto white backing cardboard. Signed in the plate A. Willette. To the bottom right is 'Phg V. Michel'. The debris of 1895 includes the words 'Panama' and 'Arton'. These appear to relate to Émile Arton, a Jewish financier who was arrested in November 1895 for his part in financing in the Panama crisis. Adolph Willette was strongly anti-Semitic. Poster is clean and tidy with no significant marks. Black and white. Overall in Very Good condition. Poster size: 610 x 460 mm (24 x 18 inches). Adolphe Léon Willette (1857–1926) was a French painter, illustrator, caricaturist, and lithographer, as well as an architect of the famous Moulin Rouge cabaret. Romae: Crispini Puccinelli, 1840. First Edition. First edition. Printed in Rome, it seems to have been printed to be read aloud, as the blessing on the work (the first eight pages) is in a very large type. The rest of the work is in a more normal, although still large, font. Clean and tidy, and ready for binding, in a limp, marbled cover. The essay itself is clean and tidy throughout. There are a few tiny (burn ?) holes to the last couple of pages, but overall a good looking piece. viii., 20.

Amsterdam: na, 1650. An attractive bird's eye view of the Hendrick de Keyser Beurs (stock exchange) of Amsterdam. Although clearly based upon the engraving by Claes Visscher, this print differs in quite a few details, and would seem to be a slightly later version. (Visscher's original engraving was 1612). Two sheets glued together, so obviously from a book. Now tipped onto hand made backing card with painted borders. The print is in very good, fractionally darkened state with a small crease to one corner. The board also has a few bumps. Engraved area 19cm x 29cm, Original sheet 27.5cm x 34.5cm, backing card is 37.5cm x 45cm. . Une jolie vue à vol d'oiseau du Hendrick de Keyser Beurs (bourse) d'Amsterdam.
