Donkey - Rabbits - Cow - Reindeer - Horse - Geese - Cat - Dog - Chickens - Camels - and a repeat animal, Cats. Not torn but the bottom edges show some fraying. The last two pages have a vertical crease that shows as a white stripe. GOOD+

The dust jacket has a one inch closed tear on the front and the corners are chipped. A VERY GOOD+ book in a VERY GOOD MINUS jacket.

The inside pages are clean and crisp, unmarked. The covers have some soiling and the front has some indented lines from someone writing on top of the paper. 14 pages all illustrated. Stapled binding.

Chicago: The Goldsmith Publishing Co., 1931. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 5 x 7 1/2. 243 pages; pages evenly age toned. Stamp on back pastedown. Green cloth boards gently bumped on spine but otherwise no flaws. DJ has minimal tearing and some age tone, in Brodart cover.

New York: Grosset & Dunlap, 1940. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 5 1/2 x 7 3/4. 258 pages. Neat owners name. The green cloth boards only have one flaw; slight edge rubbing (NOT bumped, soiled or faded). The dust jacket has some edge wear and 3 short tears on the top margin. Now in Brodart.

New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1946. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. 5 1/2 x 8 1/4. 303 pages. Nice book in a great dust jacket and end pages pictorial designed by Walter Kumme. The jacket shows a little wear at top and base of spine. Copyright page has an A for First Edition, although it is a book club issue. ( Also it should be noted that the Book Club issues do not have the pictorial end pages.) This book is FINE. The dust jacket is Very Good +.

Beginning and ending free pages missing some paper. Frontis engraved scene of harp player. Aged pages and foxing with some rubbed pages due to the clasps rubbing. First few pages have dark water stains on the ventral corners. SEE PHOTOS

The green pictorial boards are gently rubbed. Nice illustrations (8).
