Sobre este artículo
London: J.M. Dent & Co, 1891. First thus, Limited to 100 sets. Hardcover. Very Good to Near Fine. This is a full 10 volume set of the complete novels of the famous British author, Thomas Love Peacock, in the definitive collected, large-paper edition, limited and numbered (this set is No. 58 of 100).
Thomas Love Peacock (1785 - 1866) was an English novelist, poet, and official of the East India Company. He was a close friend of Percy Bysshe Shelley and they influenced each other's work. Peacock wrote satirical novels, each with the same basic setting: characters at a table discussing and criticizing the philosophical opinions of the day.
The set includes:
1. Headlong Hall
2. Melincourt - 2 vols.
3. Nightmare Abbey
4. Maid Marian
5. The Misfortunes of Elphin
6. Crotchet Castle
7 Gryll Grange - 2 vols.
8, Calidore & Miscellanea
All volumes are in very good to near fine condition, in the original tanned cloth with gilt titles on the spines. All spines are darkened, but the bindings are all tight and sound. The end papers show darkened spotting, likely from the original glue, but the text, with deckled page edges, is all still clean and bright, with no marks at all. There is a small bookseller's label at the top of each front pastedown. Many pages are still uncut, and overall, the set appears to have had very little use. all volumes except the two second volumes have their frontispieces with original tissue guard pages.

Seller of high quality books and ephemera, emphasizing older and unusual items, such as signed or association copies. I try to offer the kind of books, at fair prices, that appeal to me, hoping that they will appeal to others also.
