Sobre este artículo

New York: Golden Press, 1961. Hardcover. Edited by Robert Laffont. Translation by Anne Carter. 4to. Off-white cloth with red spine lettering and front board graphic, pictorial dust jacket, corrugated cardboard box with paper label. 296pp. Extensive illustrations (some color), pictorial endpapers. Fine/very good/good plus. Jacket mildly edgeworn, with couple of archivally closed (on verso) edge tears; box a bit age toned, rubbed and edgeworn, but complete and strong. A tight and quite handsome first U.S. edition of this far-ranging (to quote front flap) "exciting panorama of man's daily life across the ages, showing the evolution of the ways and habits of living from prehistoric times to the present." The seldom-present cardboard box did its protective job and kept the book pristine and the dust jacket quite nice. Name/address "From the Library of" inkstamp on front flyleaf of Edgar G. Hellum (1906-2000), the well-known "Bard of Pendarvis" -- resident of historic Mineral Point, Wisconsin who in the 1930s began saving early Cornish miner's cabins that were being destroyed and assembling an entire mini-village of them -- now Pendarvis, a state historic site.
