Octavo (7.5 x 5.25 inches; 190 x 135 mm.). 260, [2, blank], 9 (ads), [1, blank] pages. Frontispiece inserted and included in the pagination. Publisher's light grayish-brown cloth, spine and front board lettered in gilt, front board stamped in gilt and black; all edges of the text block trimmed; plain endpapers, flyleaves. Covers faintly darkened and very lightly soiled; rear board with a small interior divot, causing a closed tear to the pastedown; spine ends a little worn, with a thin chip to the crown; corners tapped. Top edge of the text block a little dusty; occasional mild over-opening, a couple gatherings very slightly sprung. Near fine. Collection of nine short stories. BAL 3436. (#10104).
