Wing F1640B. The history of Romish treasons & usurpations together with a particular account of many gross corruptions and impostures in the Church of Rome, highly dishonourable and injurious to the Christian religion. To which is prefixt a large preface to the Romanists. Carefully collected from a great number of their own approved authors by Henry Foulis, B.D. late Fellow of Lincoln-Colledge in Oxford. London : printed by J[ames]. C[ottrell]. for Tho. Basset, at the George neer Cliffords Inne in Fleet-street, 1671. Folio, bound in worn period full calf, 6 raised-bands to spine, remains of old morocco label gilt lettered to second compartment. Period plain endpapers with bookplate to upper pastedown, portion torn from upper corner of FFE. Despite numerous errors in pagination and pagination jumps, the signatures and catchwords are continuous and the contents are complete, meeting collation: [44], 469, [1], 483-601, [1], 619-726, [8] pp with engraved head pieces and initials. Front-hinge cracked and strained, lower partially and firm, general wear and scuffing externally with abrasion to spine ends and corners. Textblock is holding firmly, contents in good crisp condition, clean if moderately toned and foxed, occasional minor creases and handling marks, the odd ink splat or minor mark. FFE with top outer corner torn away. Overall, a good, crisp and complete copy. The book is approx. 8" x 12.5"..
