Sobre este artículo

1.That Melody of Love, from MGM's 1927 production 'Love'.

Love is a silent film directed by Edmund Goulding and released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. MGM made the film in order to capitalize on its winning romantic team of Greta Garbo and John Gilbert who had starred in the 1926 blockbuster, Flesh and the Devil.

Taking advantage of the star power, a drama was scripted based on Tolstoy's Anna Karenina. It provided the public with a taste of Gilbert-Garbo eroticism that would never again be matched. The publicity campaign for the film was one of the largest up to that time, and the title was changed from the original, Heat.

It is 3 pieces of music + covers. The music is perfectly usable; the cover is not in great shape and would need professional attention.

2. I've Grown So Lonesome Thinking of You, from You'll Find Out

Also from 1926, is sheet music to the song I've Grown So Lonesome Thinking of You, a ballad foxtrot written by Walter Donaldson & Paul Ash.

This song appeared in the 1940 film You'll Find Out, a comedy directed by David Butler and starring Kay Kyser, Boris Karloff, Peter Lorre and Bella Lugosi. The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song (I'd Know You Anywhere). In this film, members of an orchestra hired to play at a young heiress's birthday party uncover a plot against her. The film was very popular and made a profit of $167,000.

The music is 6 pages and perfectly usable. The cover needs some TLC.

3. My Pet

This was a song written by the prolific writing team of Jack Yellen and Milton Ager, in 1928, for a film that was never made. It was recorded by Paul Whiteman and His Orchestra; there's not a lot of history on it.

This music is has a particularly clean, bright cover, and the music is in perfect shape. It is pieces of music, plus covers.

BONUS: Cover and half of the music for Marie

From The Awakening, a Samuel Goldwyn Production released in November 1928.

Directed by Victor Fleming

Academy Award Nomination: Art Direction, William Cameron Menzies

Theme Song: Marie, by Irving Berlin

Starring the Hungarian actress Vilma Banky

Story: A peasant girl (Marie) is accosted by angry villagers after she's seen carrying on with a German officer.

Condition: Lots of wear at the edges but it will look fabulous when framed.

Note: I have lots of vintage sheet music listed here, some singly, many in bundles. You're welcome to create your own bundle, or just buy one piece from a grouping.
