Finland: United Artists, 1953. 1st Edition . No Binding. Fine. A fabulous-condition Finnish A2 cinema poster for the 1953 movie, VICE SQUAD starring Edward G. Robinson & Paulette Godard. The movie is also known as The Girl from Room 17 and it is this less "salacious" title which is referred to in the poster. The actual Finnish title translates as "Flying Squad". The film was first screened in cinemas in Finland in 1953 with no subsequent theatrical screenings. This poster is not a modern reproduction and nor is it Video/DVD-related. Standard size 23.5" x slightly under 16" approx. It is in fantastic condition - unfolded and with no chips or tears to the edges - one or two small handling creases. At the top - in the brim of the hat - there is a puncture or split to the paper although there is not actual loss. There are no pinholes - it may be an unused poster. The poster is a standard-sized Finnish A2 measuring approximately 23.5 inches x 15.5 inches. Full-bleed, printed by Fotopaino Oy of Helsinki and artist-initialled in the plate. In fabulous used condition - there is one pinhole at each bottom corner, a further one at top left and then three at top right. No nicks or tears to the edges. Minor handling creases to corners. A couple of small marks or stains to the blank verso which do not bleed through. C9, Near Mint. Superbly illustrated and lovely graphics, a great vintage movie poster on a motor racing theme. This massive book includes a map of Lautrec's Paris, a catalogue of his graphic works and a chronology of his life and work. Many magnificent full page color reproductions as well as paste-on reproductions and b&w photos. no pages or illustrations, photos, etc. are missing.Book is in excellent condition. Only faults we could find in book are some shelf wear/white spotting at bottom edge of the back cover, a small (about 1/8") stain at top of spine extending about one inch from the spine at the top of the pages; however, the stain is only visible on the top edges of the pages when the book is closed. It does not show on the pages themselves. The Dj is whole but shows its age with some light stains and wear marks on front cover and shelf wear at edges including some small tears and chipping at bottom of spine are.
