Chicago May (1871â€"1929) was the nickname of Mary Anne Duignan, later May Churchill Sharpe, an Irish-born criminal who became notorious in the US the UK and France She referred to herself as the "queen of crooks" This is her personal story of Trans-Atlantic sin and debauch during the late 19th and early 20th centuries


1) First 1928 UK edition.  Original orange-yellow cloth with black spine title, slightly stained, with foxing on pages edges and minor age-toning of text, but else very good, with sound binding and no other damage 310 pp Relatively scarce, especially in first edition

2. Current Biography of Chicago May by the best-selling Irish author Nuala O' Faolain.  Interweaves the author's life and observations with the life of the original "Queen of the Crooks"  Fine condition with a green cloth spine on green paper-covered boards and gilt titles on the spine and front cover.  No marks or damage at all.  Unclipped DJ is also fine.
