Contemporary marbled boards with leather spine and corners (half-leather) with 5 raised bands to spine. Front hinge tender, very small bookseller label at top of front pastedown, pencilled note on front pastedown and prev owner name on front free endpaper. Moderate foxing, edges of boards rubbed and worn at corners. Lacking the 2 page map of the Turkish and Ottoman Empire, otherwise complete with all blanks and extra titles.No dates- 1839 & 1840. Very nice copy of this account of Constantinople in the early 19th century.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good. Illus. by Allom, Thomas.. 4to.
