Burgundy coloured cloth covered boards with silver coloured titles to the back strip. Illustrated dustwrapper with gold and white coloured titles to the front panel and white coloured titles to the back strip. Black and white photograph of author to the rear fold over panel. Alex Yagodah lives in Israel, but, was born in provincial Hungary before World War II. He is notified by an American lawyer that he could potentially inherit a great deal of money if he can say he remains a Jew. What Alex does then, is to ruminate on what occurred during the Nazi occupation, at what cost he escaped, and, if he considers himself still a Jew. Rubbing of the book corners and back strip edges. Light tanning of the text block edges and age toning of the pages. Rubbing of the dustwrapper edges and panels with a hint of fading to the back strip. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
